In our previous update we mentioned our encounters with technical difficulties with our microphone equipment at the kickstarter video shoot. Even though we thought quickly on our feet with using a different mic on hand, alas, we were foiled again. Once we started reviewing our footage in Final Cut the audio was awful; freaked out of my gourd I tried to figure out how to best resolve the problem, so off to Kickstarter re-shoot #2 which occurred on Sunday Feburary 12. We had all the ladies of Unique Ladies appear but we were down by one car, Pat’s Lincoln (the bright orange one) was undergoing some work. We set up our shoot and had to wait a bit for the Danza practice in the park to end, we loved the pounding drums but it was causing distracting audio problems, and we couldn’t go there again. We waited for a bit and finally got rolling (pun intended on all levels). My mom was in San Diego for the California Democrats Convention and I enlisted her as production assistant (or what we in the biz call a PA). She helped prep the talent and keep us all on course, her very first film shoot. All-in-all the shoot went swiftly and we got some great footage, and especially good audio.
We are a two person team here at The Unique Ladies Documentary headquarters aka my apartment, Chuy holds down a job at Disney studios, while I have been interning at a Reality TV development company, therefore we are squeezing time like that proverbial juice from a turnip. Delays like the video re-shoot, or having to divert energy and time into grant applications have taken time away from creating our kickstarter page and sealing up loose ends to go live. But we have decided to use the delay to our advantage.
In the next coming weeks we will premiere a video clip featuring each of the characters from The Unique Ladies Documentary with never before seen footage. Additionally if time permits we will premiere other exclusive clips of material from the early beginnings of the project. Each clip premiere will occur on a Sunday afternoon (yup just like the song) to keep you in that cruising mood. We are working on getting our website rockin’ and twitter a blowin’ up, so as always please suggest us to your friends using this so lovely social media we participate in.
We have also been working on a big blowout kickstarter kickoff partaaaay (intentional spelling) with an exclusive sneak preview of the documentary work-in-progress. We want to plan well, so we have decided that the party will be 60 days from now (think: May) pending availability of the venue we have in mind. We can’t give anything away now since we are in preliminary planning stages but think music, dancing, good food, and maybe a special guest or two.
We thank you for your support so far. I’m learning a lot on this journey and knowing that there are so many dedicated to seeing successful of the documentary keeps that ignition burning. Suerte homies!
